Face-to-Face meetings

The data analysis efforts within the LSC are divided among four search groups: binary inspiral searches, pulsar searches, burst searches, and stochastic background searches. Throughout the year, the groups meet weekly by teleconference; however they also take advantage of the fact that most members will be traveling to the LSC meeting and schedule "Face to Face" meetings on the days prior (or following) the main meeting. As these groups are analyzing LIGO-I data, the meetings are only open to LSC members with a signed LIGO-I MOU with the LIGO Lab.

The F2F meetings will be held on Saturday, 14 August, and Sunday, 15 August.

Detector Investigation Camp (Summer Camp)

A three-day instructional camp on investigating detector artifacts that affect searches for gravitational waves. There will be presentations from experts on a variety of analysis software tools, including the Diagnostic Test Tool (DTT), the use and creation of DMT monitors, and the use of Matlab. There will also be presentations on other tools for finding and accessing data in various locations, along with an introduction to auxiliary channels that may affect the gravitational wave channel.

The Summer Camp meetings will be held on Friday, 20 August, Saturday, 21 August, and Sunday, 22 August.

Lodging

Blocks or rooms have been reserved in Richland area hotels at Government/group rate. All the hotels have non-smoking rooms and high-speed Internet.
