Driving Directions

From Pasco Airport: Exit the airport and go one block to the I-182 entrance. You want to go west towards Kennewick and Richland. Exit I-182 onto SR-240 to Richland. Continue on SR-240 around the city of Richland towards Hanford. Turn onto Stevens Way Road. Drive about 13 mi. to the intersection with Route 10. Turn left on Rte 10 and drive 1.5 mi. to the LIGO access road on the right.

From Richland hotels: Take either George Washington Way or Jadwin Avenue due North and pick up Stevens Way.

From other major cities:

Portland: Take I-84 East to I-82 North (near Hermiston and Umatilla, Ore.). I-82 crosses into Washington and becomes I-395 before entering the Tri-Cities. Exit I-395 to pick up SR-240 West and drive past Richland toward Hanford. Allow 3-4 hrs driving time.

Seattle: Take I-90 East, exit onto I-82 towards Yakima and continue on I-82 toward Richland. If you want to go straight to the site, take the SR 225 exit from I-82 and go north. Allow 4 hrs driving time.

Spokane: Take I-395 South to the Tri-Cities.
